Originally I purchased the BDPS-3500 and had to return it after it quit responding entirely. While I owned it I fought the "Child Lock" issue repeatedly. Sony replaced it with the "new and improved" BDPS-3700. This problem was NOT fixed in the BDPS-3700. As I type this I am waiting for the unit to read the Blu-Ray disc I was finally able to swap out. Did I mention in order to swap discs when the "Child Lock" issue rears its ugly head, you have to factory reset the unit by unplugging it, then holding the "eject" button for 10-20 seconds after plugging it back in. You then have to go through the ENTIRE setup procedure again which could take up to half an hour before it will properly read the disc that's been inserted. Stay as far away from these two units as you can, they seem like a deal that's too good to be true, and they are. Save yourself the grief and spend a little more on a decent Blu-Ray player. **UPDATE 7/20/2016** I took Mark's advice from the comment below and tried to update the firmware of the player when I got home today. It failed both over the internet and trying to update it via USB drive. Called customer support and after about 10 minutes on the phone with me they told me they were shipping me *another* BDPS-3700 (the first time I called and was told I would be getting a replacement unit took about an hour and a half). This reeks of Sony knowing this thing is a pile. Granted, their customer support has been acceptable, I should not be on my third blu-ray player in this short amount of time. This does not change my review of this player. I still feel like you should stay as far away from this thing as you can. I'm pretty sure at this point that the replacement unit Sony is sending me will provide me copious amounts of grief just like the prior two did.
