We wanted to give this a try before an trip to Disney World. The idea seemed great and I was excited for the purchase to arrive. After reading many reviews we also purchased the waist belt attachment as our child was on the higher end of suggested weight range (20-50 lbs, our child 40). Without the belt, I couldn't comfortably carry my daughter for anything more than the shortest spurts (despite years of backpacking experience). With the belt velcro attached to bar, there wasn't enough space for my daughter to comfortably keep her feet on the bar. In the end we decided it was easier to just throw my daughter up on my shoulders as man has been doing for 1000's of years, rather than carrying a piece of equipment that could only be comfortably used sporadically for a child of 40lbs. I think there is hope for the product. Personally, I'd like to see a fully integrated belt system and beefier straps. If this isn't an option, I think the suggested weight range should be lowered considerably. I'd also suggest a wider bar or alternative foot resting position that allowed for more surface area. Lastly, I'd like a better harness system (maybe something like a climbing harness) as an option for those that want to carry their children over longer distances.
