Unit has serious software issues rendering it useless 70% of the time, diagnostic screens? direction list and grabs phone calls!
Unit has serious software issues,. 1 Throws up list of directions constantly and you must push buttons to go back to the map 2 Goes into a bizzare diagnostic screen that shows numbers and values at startup and requires restarting to hopefully stop 3 This thing "grabs" your cell phone bluetooth connection at random times These 3 items render this thing totally worthless 70% of the time. There is no update to the software as of now and Im sure Garmin knows about these flaws. I just sold my old garmin and now regret this purchase. The unit uses your smart phone blue tooth. It must have the connection to make the traffic and updates work. Problem is it also grabs every one of your calls, even if you are connected to your car or Bluetooth headset. Even worse, if your car is shutoff in the garage and you get near it, it will grab your call and kill it. I have tried to disable it from "grabbing" my phone calls but no dice. I walk by my garage during calls and it grabs the call, typically when I am on an important conference call! People hang up after I scramble to reset. If you disconnect the phone the GPS will flash a nag screen every 4 minutes and lock up the unit. My humble opinion is to not buy this model. Absolutely no user testing was done on this thing. Yes the screen is big and capacitive touch is cool, but hardware cant cover up the software hot mess. You have been warned!
