I suspect this product does not meet the emissions and chemicals standards of the USA. I had it in my residence for 3 months and the entire time it smelled very strongly of chemicals that were obviously used in the process of making it. I suspect formaldehyde, though I did not get it tested, but I recognize it because I have been around it before. I finally had to throw it away. I suspect that it has flown below the radar on the issue of regulatory requirements of what USA furnishings must meet. I have worked in construction before and never have I smelled something that strong and persistent. Usually, if a product has a smell, it comes with a warning and after some time the smell goes away. Not so in this case. When I disposed of it, I had to wash all the clothing items I stored near it. Following this terrible experience I decided to never buy any furniture from Amazon and now use other websites where I have not had to endure this issue before or buy at the store. This experience was terrible and I would encourage buyers to be sure that all items meet USA regulatory requirements as regards emissions. DO NOT BUY IT!!!!!
