not tested for TOXIC chemicals (e.g., formamide, and others)
After seeing the review of another fellow buyer ("OMG! It is huge!") I realized my comment below might not be appropriate. IF YOU REALLY CARE, the seller advertises BPA free product and made in the USA, yet no lab analysis results can substantiate this claim. I contacted the seller with a request for information about FORMAMIDE, ACETOPHENONE, BPA (as claimed), but they were not able to provide any evidence for the levels of above chemicals in this mat. These toxic chemicals are banned in European countries. The manufacturer does not appear to have tested for these. As a result, this product becomes a dangerous option I am not ready to consider for our baby. <<<<<UPDATE:>>>>>> the seller/manufacturer contacted me after my initial review of the product went online. They sent lab analysis reports as attachments to my email, to show that these mats were trace element (Cadmium, lead, and so on) free. My concern however were the so many organic chemicals known to be carcinogenic formamide, acetophenone, as examples. I contacted the seller again to clarify these aspects, and they were quick in sending lab analysis reports showing that formamide was not detected in the mat Lab report was issued March 16 2015 by SGS Korea (sgs.com). In the lab report, 14 chemicals/trace minerals (lead) known to cause cancer or have reproductive effects were tested, including formamide. Concentration of the chemicals in the report were ND (not detected). This is good news so far. The report contains 19 pages but I was only sent page number 8. Will contact them again to receive the full report. Will update rating and review when I'll receive it.
