"Convenient" features are inconvenient to use. Disappointing design and quality of materials.
August 1, 2015: This stroller and car seat seemed to have all the features I wanted. I was most excited that it could "easily" convert from a car seat carrier (with easy access to the storage basket below) to a regular stroller. We had an older Chicco car seat and stroller and we were pleased with both, which is why we decided to buy another Chicco. It seems that the quality of Chicco's products has declined. I would not purchase this again, and I suggest you don't either because: - The stroller's canopy gets in the way of inserting the car seat. - When using the stroller as a car seat carrier, an attachment must be added and removed before and after each use. Its attachment points are made entirely of plastic, and it seems it will break easily with repeated use. If misplaced, the stroller would no longer function as a car seat carrier. Plus it requires 2 hands to remove it, which means the "easy, one-hand" folding feature is not really one-handed. - Car seat canopy is difficult to open and close with one hand, and it doesn't open fully. - Wheels are made entirely of plastic, and treads are a plastic foam, not rubber. Furthermore, the wheels are secured to the tiny axle with a lock pin that's about the diameter of a paperclip. This item is a disappointing in both quality and design. I do not recommend. Update: 2 years later August 8, 2017 It was too inconvenient to return this, so we ended up keeping it, and it turned out to be pretty good. We didn't use the stroller more than 20 times, but it has held up well, including on an airplane ride and an excursion on a dirt trail. We removed the car seat canopy that doesn't fully open, and that saved a lot of frustration. Here are a few additional pros/cons that we discovered while using it. Pros: - During the early months while you're using the stroller as a car seat carrier you can unzip and remove the stroller seat which will keep it clean until you're ready to use it. This will also make the storage basket below easier to access, and will make the stroller slightly lighter and less bulky. - The stroller storage basket is larger than many strollers and it is easy to access. (I could never get my diaper bag out of the storage basket on our earlier model Chicco stroller without first removing the child from the stroller.) Cons: - When folded, the stroller does NOT stand up well on its own. This resulted in our stroller getting very beat up, dirty, and wet on an airport tarmac because it falls over. It is also very large and bulky when folded and only fits in our Mazda 5 hatchback when the third row seating is folded down. - The fabric is textured and not easy to clean. - If you want a tray on the front to hold your toddler's drink or snacks, they cost $30-40 extra (and they are positioned too far from the child to be useful). - The parent storage area is too small to hold a common Samsung phone. 2 years later I would give it 3 stars. Update: 2.5 years later April 22, 2018 After we had baby #2 we decided to sell this stroller to purchase a double Graco stroller. It was too big to be practical, and we didn't use it after the first time. Then we bought a used JOOVY GRAPHITE ULTRALIGHT STROLLER. Best purchase ever! It can be used to carry an infant car seat, and can also be used as a typical stroller or as a sit and stand! It can be changed into many different configurations for 1 or 2 kids. I use it as a double stroller, and it is more compact and lighter weight than the Chicco Bravo single stroller. I flew halfway across the country with a 2 year old and a 10 month old, and the Joovy stroller is the only reason it was possible. I squeezed both babies into the stroller (one in the stroller seat and one in a carseat attached to stroller), with all of our carryon items stuffed into it, and I was still able to pull our giant rolling suitcase behind me. Yes, the Chicco Keyfit is a great carseat, but after trying many different strollers, I highly recommend a Joovy Graphite Ultralight for your stroller!
