Cute idea, silly drama
Cute and funny at times. Like the premise. I like firefighters. Skinny dipping. Serial monogamy. Beefcake calendar fundraisers.
I have some pet peeves about contemporary romance writers. Unfortunately, even though I loved the grandmother, I can't stand it when characters are turned on by normal everyday things. The most ridiculous sentence I ever read: "He found it strangely erotic that she wore clothes the color of popsicles".
Another peeve is to made up silly events that are full of drama. Jim encourages Kate to walk bare foot in the grass because he enjoys it so much. She reluctantly tries to do this as well (because she is never barefoot), he whispers in her ear to close her eyes, and she gets stung by a bee! Jim helps her by grabbing her foot and takes out the stinger, but they are so close and there was no mistaking the "sensation of a man pulsating against her thigh". (Eyes rolling).
I carried on but unfortunately I had to stop because of the SPOILER ALERT~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Who is the baby daddy drama.
Really? Because no one uses birth control, the morning after pill or pregancy tests in real life, right?

In the end, too much over the top drama for my taste.
