I bought this blower in July 2016 along with an extra battery later and it seemed to be working fine and pretty much did the work I expected it to do. On 2/11/2018 I plugged the battery in to charge and left in plugged in over night. The next day I was called saying that my workshop was on fire. The fire department and Fire Marshall said the blasé was caused by the battery and charger exploding and causing the blasé. Fortunately the fire department arrived quickly and extinguished the blasé. My workshop and power tools were damaged by heat and water and the Greenworks Blower, charger and batteries were melted beyond recognition. They were in close proximity to my band saw, drill press, scroll saw and bench grinder so what didn't get damaged by the fire was damaged by the water used to extinguish the fire. The shop suffered wall, cabinet and work bench damage that is minimal to what could have happened if the fire had not been caught in time. This should have never happened because most of the battery tools that I have use safety devices that will prevent the charger from working if something is wrong with the charger or battery ? If you own one of these units please be aware that this could happen to you.
