Not Pure Potassium Chloride
This stuff is poor quality. Whatever it is, it is not pure KCl. For a supposed chemical company that boasts "Elemental First Quality" as its motto, this KCl is hardly that. Furthermore, they say the Specification Sheet is available online. It isn't. I am reluctant to use it. It was a waste of money. The product is an off-white, pinkish orange color resembling crude potassium chloride ore (Sylvite) - probably no more than 95-98% pure at best. It did not give the characteristic lavender flame - it gave a yellow-orange flame similar to sodium chloride. Without that product specification sheet, there is no way to know what other crap is in it.
If crude potassium chloride is all you need, go for it. But, I'm not even sure it is KCl because of the flame test.
P.S. I have a BA degree in chemistry and a Ph.D. in biochemistry.
