★☆☆☆☆
1950 sexist stereotypes being presented as facts
According to this book, there are two types of children. Children who enjoy twirling, fairies, dresses, pink, and long hair are called "girls." Children who enjoy dinosaurs, mud, superhero capes, neckties, and cars are called "boys." The way to tell if a child is a girl or a boy is by observing which set of sexist stereotypes he or she adheres to. Any other point of view causes "serious damage." I wish I were joking. I haven't felt this deeply saddened by a children's book in a long time.
