Buyer beware.. Although my 2 year old daughter has enjoyed playing with this set and the pieces are sturdy, I was alarmed to notice today that one of the pieces had some dark spots on it. As I looked closer, I realized that it was actually mold growing inside the food. My daughter is past the "everything always in her mouth" phase although it IS play food for small children. It also has never been submerged in water. I have heard of this issue with bath toys, but I was very disappointed to see this happen with this set, especially after only a few months of use.
