Move along if your looking for a great tasting cup of percolated coffee.
This percolator makes weak coffee. After the coffee is percolated, I have to pour coffee back through the basked to get a decent cup of coffee. I checked the water temperature and it was 170 degrees the first time and 156 degree the second time, not hot enough. The actual perk time is very short. There is no way to adjust the brew time on the coffee making cycle. I have had several Presto percolators, after a while they were no better. These are well built, nicely made pots that should last a long time. I'm just not willing to drink crap tasting weak coffee for a long time. This is my third try with modern electric percolators and I'm done. Short perk cycle, low water temperature and weak coffee seem to be the common denominator between these currently made percolators. May have something to do with trying to comply with some energy efficiency guideline, bottom line, the coffee is still terrible. I'm going to get a stove top percolator, my guess is it will make a great tasting cup of percolated coffee. Update: I contacted Cuisinart customer service and was told I have to pay to ship the pot back and pay an additional $10 to ship the new pot. Thanks but no thanks. I will never, under any circumstances, purchase another Cuisinart product.
