Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

I needed an escape ladder for my apartment and got this mainly because of the price, but I'm really surprised to see the one-time use warning on the box. I guess I should have paid a little more attention to the negative (less voted) reviews! There's also the 5-year limited warranty, which pretty much says that I should expect to buy a new one to replace this 5 years from now. Putting that into consideration, the low price doesn't seem reasonable any more. I did open the box to examine the content and the ladder looks OK and not too flimsy. However, there is no way I could test it in an apartment (and I hope I'll never need to!), so no way to tell if it'll hold up when there's really an emergency. I'm keeping this mostly for my own peace of mind, but if you need one and you intend to have a fire drill with your family, I would highly recommend getting something else. I've posted pictures of the box and manual inside to bring this to others attention. But please do vote this and other negative reviews up if you do have the same concern.
