Back to the drawing board!
Perhaps it's because the artfully designed "Origami" case for the Kindle Fire HD 7" spoiled me, but I've found this case extremely disappointing. Yes, it does provide some protection for this tablet and yes, it does make the tablet's slippery surface easier to hold in one hand. On the other hand, I'm completely convinced that the product images showing the case's so-called stand holding it appropriately upright in both horizontal and vertical positions were achieved with ample applications of glue. In the first place, the grooves that should allow the stand to fold away from the rest of the case's flap are both narrower and more shallow than those of the Origami case: thus folding the flap at all is quite difficult. Secondly, the corner magnet so highly and redundantly touted by one reviewer is simply not strong enough to hold the case's cover in place while the flap is folded back and the corner with the magnet slides around, making the stand flap even less stable. Furthermore, as another reviewer has already mentioned -- but not strongly enough in my opinion -- the magnet's position eliminates the possibility of a small hole that would allow the front facing camera to be used while the case's flap is fully folded back, bringing to mind Jackie Gleason's remark about his golf game: "If I can see the ball, I can't hit it, and if I can hit it, I can't see it". This case should have been sent back to the drawing board before being released at such a high price and those of us who believed the photos of it in standing positions should be offered our money back immediately.
