Single player campaign will not work at all without a download
I wanted to like this game but could not get past the start screen where a message is displayed that the game will not complete installation unless you connect to the Internet and the single player campaign “feature” will not be available until that install, from the Internet completes. The single player campaign is crippled by a download requirement. I will be returning this and demanding a full refund. If you do not understand or understand but don’t care that the practice of making players ask for permission to play a game they have already purchased is caustic anti-consumerism, a violation of public trust, and a detriment to game collectors then this review is not for your benefit. Activision ignored my questions about this here on Amazon, on Twitter and on their official forums because they know good and well that this is an anti consumer move that makes them look bad, but they’re counting on weak wills to give in once they’ve been fooled into paying for the thing. When they did this in CoD WWII they were forthright and there was backlash. Now they’ve decided to just glaze over it. Amazon needs to spell out on the product page that even the single player campaign which has no inherent need for an Internet connection will not work at all without an initial download from the Internet.
