I purchased this in March for our ONE ROOM (playroom) that has carpet so it’s used very infrequently. Our new puppy had an accident and went to clean it up with this. Immediately I noticed a weird smell and thought maybe the belt had come off like in a regular vacuum. However when I went to examine it I heard crackling like fire. I removed the dirty water reservoir and could see red/orange under it like it was a contained fire. I quickly threw it outside but it BURNED my new carpet! It started smoking (in video) so clearly I am not going to use it. Attempted to get into contact with Hoover customer service and it’s just robots and no live person.
