Alright, I know I'm going to sound like some lame infomercial but my story is true. I have a genetic mutation (DSG1 c.517+3A>T) My hands and feet have been callused severely since at least the age of 2 as that is as far back as I can remember having them. In preschool I noticed other children did not have feet like mine and the embarrassment and shame was born. Through my 34 years of life I've tried everything I could get my hands on. Thousands of dollars have been spent. I bought this stuff a year or so ago and like many other people I didn't think it did anything and I hated the chalky substance it turned into. I recently found out about my gene mutation and why I have the skin I have. I went to a dermatologist and she prescribed me utopic. It's 41% Urea. I asked if the 40% on Amazon is just as good since it's much, much cheaper and she said yes. So I've diligently used this. About 8 weeks have passed and you can see the results for yourself. What I do know is that you should not buff, grate or cut calluses off. This concept was difficult for me. Callused are there to protect your skin. When you take them off with force you're triggering your skin to form more calluses. These photos are taken 8 weeks apart and I did not do anything to my feet other than apply the cream twice a day and put socks on. I would put this on hands if you wear cotton sleep gloves at night, but this isn't a lotion you apply and go about your day. Wear socks. wear gloves at night. It's chalky and gross feeling. I gave this a 1 star review because this is what people read. Urea works wonders if you apply it every day. I hope this helps someone understand. It's incredibly difficult for me to share this story and this picture because I've spent my life hiding this particular flaw. But here it is.
