I'm sorry, but no. This is not nor will it ever be real vanilla. Yes it says mexican vanilla in big lettering on the front, but it says just under it in small print "vanilla-vanillin flavoring an artificial flavoring". As you can see from my photos it has a type of pulp which settles to the bottom which if you google vanillin makes a lot more sense. If you are fine with artificial flavoring then this is probably a great product, but now that I know what it is I must confess I probably won't be using it. According to the label the FDA has still approved this for consumption, so it has been tested and passed. But don't buy it thinking it is real vanilla when it is just vanillin. Ingredients list: Water, Alcohol, Vanilla Extract, Vanillin. Real vanilla would have to be brown, it doesn't make sense when vanilla beans are so dark brown they are almost black.
