Abysmal in a side by side comparison
I actually did a full on experiment with this thing at my house. I used this Thermos (16 oz with spoon in the lid), a Stanley vacuum thermos the same size and a Thermos brand little kids 8oz one in pink with star pattern in a side by side comparison. I put 188 degree H20 in each to the fill point and sealed them. The outside of this one was hot to the touch almost immediately, the Stanley was only warm on the lid and the rest cool as can be and the pink was slightly warm on the sides and the lid stayed cool. I let them sit on the counter in my kitchen for exactly 3 hours and then measured the temp of the water in each. After 3 hours the temp in the Stanley was 157 degrees, the pink Thermos was 136 degrees and this thing was lukewarm and at only 108 degrees. It is much longer than 3 hours from the time I pack my kid's lunch until the time they get to eat it, so this thing is unusable as far as I am concerned. It is a shame too because the built in spoon thing is clever and very useful.
