This does not work, period. My wife saw 3 very large rats running from our front porch and was terrified. Having a small dog and being an animal lover, I didn't really want to kill the rats, I just wanted to push them along to an open field away from our house. I purchased a 4 pack of these guys and put them around our front porch. I literally watched a rat smell it and continue just "hanging out". S/he wasn't even the slightest bit deterred. Maybe this product works on New York City rats, but it certainly doesn't work on San Francisco rats.
