Over the past 6 months, I bought 3 cases of 4-pack "Organic, Old Fashioned, Rolled Oats, Whole Grain." The first two cases from Amazon, and the last one directly from Bob’s Red Mill. The nutrition values listed on the packages I bought directly were dramatically different. They had 45% less dietary fiber, and 30% less protein. The grains were also very different. The grains in the packages I bought directly were much more crushed. This will give me a mushy oatmeal after cooking, instead of the plump oatmeal I like. I checked the company’s Web site carefully, and found that the "Gluten Free Organic Old Fashioned Rolled Oats" has the same nutritional values as the packages I got from Amazon. So, I wrote to the company and expressed my dissatisfaction with the product. The company promises, “If you are not completely satisfied - at any time, for any reason - we will replace the product or refund the full purchase price immediately. No quibbles, no hassles.” Because of that promise, I asked them to send me, as a replacement, a 4-pack case of "Gluten Free Organic Old Fashioned Rolled Oats." They did not agree. Instead they claimed that such variations in the nutrition values are normal. I wrote again, this time explicitly referring to their promise of replacement or refund “at any time, for any reason.” Again, they did not agree, and again they tried convince me that such variations are normal. They asked me to taste it first. This is quibbling. How can anyone tell the dietary-fiber content of oatmeal by tasting it? How can anyone tell the protein content of oatmeal by tasting it? I am not eating oatmeal for its good taste. I am eating it for its nutritional value, specifically its dietary-fiber content. If there are such large variations in the nutritional value, then there is nothing special about this product. I can then buy oatmeal from any local store. I do not think they will ever fulfill their promise of replacement or refund “at any time, for any reason.” I cannot trust the product and I cannot trust the company. I will never again buy a product from Bob’s Red Mill. I posted this review at the company’s Website, in response to the review-request I received. My review appeared for a minute or more, but then quickly disappeared. That is really amazing. Now all the reviews, without exception, are 5-star. This tells me a lot.
