We have two of these because we love this style of coffee and having the insulated carafe is wonderful. There is no problem there. However, one day we decided to clean them on the top rack in our dishwasher (normal cycle) to remove the oils that built up over time of just manually cleaning it. I can only guess that the lids are held together by some sort of cheap glue, because they BOTH separated and are now broken. For quite some time we just put up with cold coffee. In this condition you can brew, but have to put it together manually and align it before and during brewing each time. If you were to try to turn it from open to closed or vice versa, it will just spin uselessly... so you must choose between leaving it open and cooling or closed and spill coffee every time you pour. Now for the kicker; I decided to splurge for a new lid as a gift to my spouse and myself and contacted customer support to inquire as how to get one. Two days later I received an email response of what amounted to being flipped the bird... too bad... your problem...bye. For our part we don't want to create waste just for our convenience so we will not be replacing the entire unit yet, particularly since it is entirely unnecessary... just sell us a %$&*ing lid! It's not like we're asking them to stand by their product claims and give it to us for free. We're super upset by the waste and even more so by the response of the company. No more Bodum products... of which we have a few. Hey Bodum! Right back at you! (my middle finger here)
