First, what are nanoparticles? Nanoparticles are substances that are between one and 100 nanometers (nm), or roughly 1,000 times smaller than the width of a human hair. These particles are small enough to pass through the skin wall and even enter into the bodies cells. According to MSDS the MEAN size of the particles in this product is .12 microns which is 120 nm. The arithmetic mean is close to the middle with approx half the particles smaller and half larger. This company misleadingly states that: "The powder is pure white and made up of nano + 20%, sized particles (a white fluffy powder like flour). This size particle is perfect for sunscreen. It is not so small that is can be absorbed into the bloodstream, ..." So, not only does this product contain approx 50% nanoparticles, the company also tries to mislead you that it does not. I was not aware of the dangers of nanoparticles until after I bought the product.
