This is my second electric smoker from Masterbuilt. The first one is at our cabin, and I bought this newer model for home. I haven't done much with this one yet, but I can see already the pros/cons: Pros: - Electric is the way to go. I had a propane smoker before, but temperature control was really hard. As soon as the sun hit the black box it would jump up 75 degrees. Or if the tank ran empty, I wouldn't notice for a while. Electric smokers self-regulate, and with the wood box you get plenty of smoke so the taste is great. - This one has a built in meat temperature probe, which is super nice. For my older one, I had to buy an extra gadget that I use to remotely monitor meat temp from inside the house. - When it works, the bluetooth app is nice, especially in winter, so I can set/change my program from inside - They added a handle and wheels to this model, which my previous Masterbuilt is lacking. Very helpful. Cons - the little LED screen is nearly useless in daylight. - the bluetooth app is horrible. it disconnects frequently, and often takes multiple tries to pair. Also it falls into 'safe mode' sometimes and I cannot get it out of it rendering the app useless.
