I am so disappointed in Melissa & Doug. I ordered these on September 19 for my daughter's 1st birthday. So, we have had them a little less than a month. They colors are bright and they appeared to be of good quality. She loves them. They live on the bottom-half of our fridge and we have a great time talking about the different animals. About two weeks ago I noticed the giraffe magnet was beginning to peel off it's wooden base! Are you kidding me? We had barely even started using them! My daughter discovered the peel too and, as toddlers will, fiddled with the lip until she pulled the entire thing off. Not only does this reflect poor craftsmanship but a potential choking hazard had she torn off a little piece. Maybe this was just a total fluke, but I regularly check the others now for any signs of compromise. What a shame. We own several Melissa & Doug products, but this casts a poor shadow on the integrity of the companies products. Only buy them if your child plans to only look at them through the package and never enjoy them for their intended use.
