Don't Buy Quickbooks unless you like paying hostage fees to Intuit
If I could give a ZERO star rating for this product, I would! Don't be fooled into believing that QuickBooks is the 'industry standard' just because they've convinced many to buy it. What do you need to know? 1) Even though their software says 'QuickBooks 201x) - it isn't. Truthfully, it's 'QuickBooks 365 days from purchase' so when you at your business year end and it expires while trying to close out your books, Intuit insists on gouging you $384 for a few extra days in the year (as quoted by "Nolan" at Intuit today - 12/26/16) 2) Software and your accounting information is held hostage if you don't accept their automatic renewal mid--December bill of $421 to keep the 2016 version running to the end of the year. 3) Intuit, despite already being an owner of a copy QuickBooks, and only needing to update to the following year and continue using the software, insists on charging $416 for the payroll version of software when you can buy it BRAND NEW off Amazon for $287. Any customer-minded business would either match the price or would offer continuing subscriptions of their software for the 'street rate' or lower to retain customers. As a small business owner, I appeal to similar small business owners to DO NOT BUY QUICKBOOKS - it's one of the most frustrating scams I've come across in a long time. The ethics of a company to advertise something as 2016, 2017 or whatever year then have it 'break' before that year is done is deceptive and dishonest; especially when they require a hostage 'fee' of nearly double the purchase price to turn it back on for the last few days of the year it is advertised for. ARGH!
