YIKES !! This Fails In All Aspects
This looked good "on paper," in actuality it's pretty awful. Let's get right to it:
1. Setting this up is a nightmare. It apparently has an internal memory to which your photos can be saved, but nowhere is there any advice on how to do it. I spent an afternoon attempting to figure out how to simply get it to read a memory card, eventually I settled on a USB stick.
2. It can be set to flip and alternate photos at selected times (3 sec, 5 sec, 1 min, etc.) but even when "random" is selected for selection, it somehow picks out its own favorite photo and replays it about every 10 photos. This is very annoying when you are watching 250 photos go by.
3. The calendar/photo in the display ad looks neat, but be advised in the calendar mode you select a static photo, it won't change pictures while displaying this calendar.
4. You can download similar quality photos and never be sure how they will look when displayed, for some reason there's great variability with this LCD, some photos look good, others poor.
5. While there are a number of potential good adjustments, tint, saturation, contrast, brightness, none of these can be accessed while viewing an actual photo. So it's trial and error until you get a setting which looks good on a particular picture. This means jumping back and forth through a difficult to access and non-intuitive menu system, and it's unlikely a setting which looks good on one photo will look good on all the others.
6. The instructions are a mess. Einstein would be befuddled.
7. Finally, the ultimate deal-breaker. I left the plastic wrap on the front during my hours of trying to make this thing work, assuming the little marks across the aluminum front were air bubbles. When the wrap finally came off, they turned out to be non-removable spots all over the front. Man, does it look ugly sitting on my desk. It should be noted this was not prior damage and I did not receive an used unit. Just crappy finishing.
8. The power cord is only 3' - it won't reach from the desk top to the floor, let alone an outlet.
So there you have it. What could have been a sweet little desk display fails across a number of areas. There's nothing here I can recommend.
