I purchased this item to put in my attic because at night it either sounded like a soccer tournament was going on or a giant beaver was chewing up my house. I had sealed and double sealed any possible mouse highway into my attic. It worked well at first with a fairly high body count the two times I emptied it. This device was supposed to take away all the trouble of checking and resetting regular mouse traps in an uncomfortable place to get in to. The last mouse to get in there didn't die from the shock, yes I had good new alkaline batteries, so it decided to chew it's way out. This thing destroyed this mouse death trap. It destroyed the wiring and ate a hole right thru the side. The hole wasn't large enough for the beaver I mentioned earlier, so my guess it was a mouse on steroids. So, I would not recommend this product regardless of cost. I paid a decent amount for this and expected a body count that would make any man happy, instead they turned it into an after hours club.
