Don't NOT BUY
Thank you for reading. Please do yourself a favor and do not order red worms from or fulfilled by Uncle Jim's Worm Farm ([...]). I just received this item, I've had my worms for three days now and they have red mites. I also ordered from Uncle Jim's about three years ago and also received red mites with my red worms. Then being a novice worm keeper I didn't know that red mites were bad. I thought I had gotten mites from something I fed them. I see this was not the case with this being my second time ordering from Uncle Jim's within 3 years and having both orders arrive with red mites. Red mites are NOT GOOD for your worms (or your house if you keep worms in doors). When I saw my red mite population starting to grow and started to leave the worm box I spoke with NJAES in Middlesex County, NJ and they informed me red mites are not good. If you keep worms indoors the red mites don't stay in the box like the worms do. I was told by NJAES they there are mites you do not want in your house. What I've learned over the course of a year tolerating red mites is that they are extremely had to get rid of. I tried washing my worms but they came back. If you stop feeding your worms the mites with eventually start to feed on the worms. Uncle Jim's Worm farm must be loaded with mites. If I could give them a negative star rating I would. Thank you for reading.
