If you have a SmartTV like Android TV or you use built in applications on your TV this will not work. It requires an HDMI input and Smart TVs dont output the video signal. There are applications that claim to work on Smart TV's with this box however they do not work on most applications because of Digital Copyright protections that limit the screen capture needed by those applications. I'm sure the device works well for those who have external HDMI outputs. The reason for the low star review is because it's not mentioned anywhere that it will not work on Smart TV's which have built in streaming capabilities.
