I bought this airfryer to replace my old one from Walmart, which lasted me almost a year until I dropped and broke it. I knew Ninja stuff was pretty good, and was honestly disappointed when I opened it. The entire machine is a very thin flimsy plastic on the outside...which was Walmart one was too, yes, but...it was Walmart price. Additionally, for three times the price of my other airfryer, this one was super small. Its at least half sized in comparison to the inner cooking chamber. Now, this does come with a rack to double stack food, so that makes up for it, I guess. I read reviews of the burning plastic smell, and I'm assuming its from the rubber stoppers at the bottom of the "crisper plate" it comes with. So, I removed them, because I don't want to cook rubber with my food anyway. Using it for the first time, it told me to fry french fries at 20 minutes....my old airfryer did it in 10, so I tried 10 minutes to start. I'm glad I did, because 10 minutes set my smoke alarm off. I live in an apartment. They sent the fire dept. The french fries weren't even burned, they were nicely browned, but for some reason, this thing smokes so much, I have to use it now by putting it on my oven under the vent, because I can't have the firefighters over for dinner every night. Food was good, but it's hard to mess up french fries. TL;DR -Rubber bits can cause rubber smell -Cheap plastic, Walmart quality -Smokes for no reason -Small area for food -Inaccurate food cooking suggestions -Made good fries. Update 11/15 Due to me setting it under the vent to prevent the smoking, last week when I sat the airfryer on the stovetop, I accidentally turned the dial and cooked the airfryer, resulting in an electric fire that almost burned my kitchen down. I hated every moment of having this airfryer, even in the end. By the way, the double stack rack burns the top layer of food too. Rest in pieces.
