OK, to be completely fair before you read this, please note that I DO NOT own the product (and will not) because it is an overpriced redundancy (actually that's not fair because this device cannot do many of the things the Echo Dot can) and the Echo Dot CAN be "installed" in your car if you either pair it with your smartphone in hotspot "tether" mode or just have a standalone hotspot made for in-vehicle WiFi. I have had my Echo Dot IN my car for over a year now, and it works perfectly. While I cannot get turn-by-turn directions (the ONLY thing this item offers that Echo cannot), I get music, weather, playlists, PHONE CALLS, and everything else Echo can do without spending 3x the money. Garmin is offering a niche product here for people who don't know any better.
