While I love the Oofos sandals as the squishy sole is hugely comfortable and these shoes offer that as well, the heel area in the shoe style is unfortunately highly problematic and uncomfortable. The design is absolutely poor as there are multiple areas that rub the back of the heel raw. For some reason, the shoe has an added bright green tab in the heel, for decoration perhaps? This tab is completely exposed and creates abrasive edges at its sides and bottom. The heel also has a leather like insert that only comes about 3/4 of the way up the heel, the top edge of this rolls down slightly resulting in another abrasive area. For the price, it's really very unsatisfactory to have these issues, definitely not recommended, especially for people with diabetes! The shoe also runs quite small, I take a 9 normally and needed a 10. I called the company to inform them of the heel issues and they told me a need a bigger size, seriously, no way, I'd be tripping over the toe! They need to resign with comfort in mind, never saw a shoe wth so much exposed bulkiness in the heel! Also, there is a rubber band around the front of the shoe, is this for style? All I know is that the rubber band does what rubber bands do, SQUISH! What were they thinking? It was terribly uncomfortable after a couple hours in the shoe! I actually cut it off! For the heel area, I applied those felt a metatarsal pads with the wide side up to cover all the rough parts. Now, the shoes are great... But seriously, for the price, it's crazy what I all had to do to these shoes to make them work out for me!
