This device has potential if the manufacture makes some much needed improvements. Firstly the two positive aspects: 1) This device has a decently thick out shell that seems like it would be durable in the long term 2) Easy to use tool free design and simple plug and play without any need to install bloatware (on Windows 7). Now, why am I rating this 1 star? Major design flaw, this device has no ventilation what-so-ever. It is marketed as supporting both HDD and SSD but with a thick plastic shell and no ventilation the unit rapidly heats up to a point that hinders performance and endangers your HDD. In all likelihood that would be fine an SSD as they do not generate nearly as much heat as traditional HDD units. Bottom line: The casing needs ventilation for use with HDD's Update 04/27: In additional to the above the manufacturer also feel it is acceptable to spam buys of their products begging for a review (I have received 2 requests from them in 3 days time). In this case it was apparent within a couple uses that the product was junk but frankly I think Amazon should require users to own a product before they can leave a review on it and even then they should have it for at least a month for general goods and 90 days for electronics; maybe if that was the case so many products wouldn't have inflated BS 5* reviews left by people excited that they got the package.
