★☆☆☆☆
Deliberately unusable
The "slide up from the bottom" replacement for the thumb button is comically amateurish. When you slide your thumb up very slightly off-axis, the app screen is moved slightly left or right -- this has no effect at all, other than to annoy the user. iOS is telling you that it understands what you mean, but the developers thought you shouldn't get the desired result. They kept the moronic misfeature where sometimes, when you swipe, the app is shifted down so it only takes up the bottom half of the screen. The top half of the screen is black. This serves no purpose other than to inconvenience the user. Taking a screenshot is incredibly awkward now. All of the things they broke, were broken so they could force you to use face recognition. But face recognition is one of the worst ideas Apple ever had. Face recognition is a nightmarish security hole. It's often awkward and painful to use. It doesn't work with masks. It doesn't work with motorcycle helmets. It doesn't work if the phone is lying flat on your desk. It doesn't work in the dark unless you first turn the phone on. These people are idiots.
