Save your $95 and go on Google
Full disclosure: I found this in a thrift shop and bought it at a fraction of the price. I won’t insult those of you paying full price, but yikes. It would be remiss of me to not weigh in here. At the heart of every good Disney guide book should be some hints or tricks that you can’t necessarily pick up for free on the internet. Something that makes the price of a book worthwhile. Everything in this book is something I’ve seen somewhere on the internet. Even the “workbook” is compiled of basic questions, calculators, and worksheets floating around Disney Facebook moms groups for free. Unless you get roped into joining hers that you pay for. Again, yikes. I can see how the author can come across as relatable, but at some point I started to question if she herself actually knew anything about Disney other than how to overcharge for advice you could get free elsewhere. It seemed like the same thing over and over again- a decent superficial knowledge of Disney that even most beginners have or could easily pick up, but every “tip” was like ...duh. If you need a $95 book to figure it out, well... I mean. Water is free. You can get it for free in the parks. Mind blowing, right? That’s the level of tips you’ll get. Renting DVC will save money! But no guidance on how to actually do that. Again, Google is an amazing ally. Her style of writing also leaves a lot to be desired. I can’t tell if she’s being intentionally insulting or if she’s just laughing her way to the bank because people will buy it and doesn’t really care about grammar, complete sentences, or logic. I know it’s a Disney guide book. But again. Yikes. Maybe this should be filed under kids books. I’m sure as more people buy this and are disappointed in it, copies will start popping up in community donation bins or thrift shops. Save yourself the energy and either ask a travel agent or hop on the internet. $95 for this is a joke. To put in context, this book is the equivalent of one park ticket. I know where I’d rather put my money for vacation. And because her personal “life tips” are included— I’d save your money there and get an actual financial advisor too.
