Original Post (Nov. 2013): I bought this chew toy for my 8-month old border collie/lab mix after reading the positive reviews. We've been desperately trying to find him a chew toy that will last. We started with the Kong classic, but he ripped the top off of that within a week. We gave him a larger Kong classic, and that lasted about 10 days. This product was supposed to do better than the Kong, but unfortunately it did not. Within five days he had ripped an inch-sized chunk off one of the ends and was proceeding to gnaw off additional bits and pieces every few minutes. We ultimately took it away from him because we didn't want him to ingest the material. I wouldn't call it a complete waste of money because technically it occupied him for a total of 10 hours over the course of those five days, and he really did enjoy playing with it during that time, but I expected greater longevity and will not be buying a replacement from West Paw. UPDATE (Jan. 2014): I contacted Westpaw to see about their guarantee. Their customer service was very nice and they provided me with a replacement chew toy free of charge (minus the cost of sending them the destroyed one). Within one afternoon my (now) 10-month old pup had pretty much torn one of the legs apart, as had happened before. So, we had to take it away. I again contacted Westpaw and they agreed to refund my money if I sent back the toy. Bottom line: The dog loved it from the moment it hit the floor. The toy got destroyed quickly. Westpaw's customer service is great.
