A Piece of Crap
Very disappointing. Sony "replaced" one of the best pocket radios of all time, the beloved Sony ICF-S10MK2, with a piece of crap. The P26 has a worse antenna, worse battery door, and sub-par build quality that the old classic. .
- This thing is so light-weight cheap, when it was delivered, I thought the package was empty.
- The antenna mount(and antenna) inexplicably protrudes, like a tumor, from the back of the radio, making it much thicker and bulkier than it needs to be.
- The new batter door is worse than the old one. The door is partially "held" in with a tiny tab on each side- mine came with one broken off. It appears to be designed to fail faster, and get lost sooner than the old battery door.
- The P26 does have a lot more battery life than the old model, but if the antenna snaps off and the batteries fall out, the battery life is useless.
- Usually products improve with time- not this radio. This cheaper, more poorly designed radio might be worth $10 bucks, but it's a complete rip-off at $20 dollars.
Sony blew it, big time, they replaced a Ford Ranger with a Hugo. With so many other quality radios at this price point- STAW AWAY!!!
