My wife bought this for me knowing my love for grilling but also knowing we live in a cold state. After reading many positive reviews we ordered it. We were excited to try it but were only disappointed. It was between this unit and the Zojirushi EB-DLC10 Indoor Electric Grill. The Unit is infrared, so much so that there is a warning on the side to not stare directly at the lights, which is difficult given thats where you are putting your food. Even with this warning we tried out some skirt steak and after waiting a full fifteen minutes we put the steak on and immediately noticed two major problems. One the unit is so bright that you can’t even see the surface of the meat to make any judgements about flipping etc. Two, it doesn’t get hot enough to seat meat or give any good marks. We simply got a gray color. Smokeless is a wonderful thought but completely smokeless gets you food that doesn’t taste anywhere near grilled The Zojirushi EB-DLC10 Indoor Electric Grill which is $30 cheaper heats the grill surface directly and gets surface temperatures in excess of 500 degrees, the best this unit could do was 430 degrees according to our laser thermometer. We are not getting paid by any company and did not get any type of discount on either grills. And are keeping the zoji. The zoji creates just enough smoke to create that grilled flavor at a cheaper price. We wanted to love it with its impressive styling and promises of an indoor grill that delivers but it falls completely short
