USB-C connection... not USB-C speed. I feel ripped off
This is very misleading. They make it sound like it's a drive that takes advantage of the new USB-C capabilities of the MacBook, but it's a conventional spinning drive, not a solid state one. That means that the data transfer speed is slooooow. It will be the same regardless of which connection you use. Basically, you are paying an extra $10 for a direct cable when you probably already have a converter at home.
Learn from my mistake. This is just one of their old drives with a new look and a new cable. Get a sold state drive if you really want to take advantage of USB-C. What a disappointment...
