Definitely not worth the price - hidden repair
I was so excited to receive this product for my boutique. I paid extra to have it painted. When it arrived it was on a cardboard backing and it said to inspect for damages before removing. In the middle of the lettering on the front I noticed a "blob" of what appeared to be paint drip. I was not impressed but felt I could deal with it because I had been searching for something like this for quite a while. I also noted that the paint was not uniform around the edges of the words and you could see the "wood" color showing through. Again not a deal breaker and I could touch up with paint - should I have to for almost $200?" Certainly not but not worth sending the item back. Also the measurements although were correct are kind of misleading. They measure it from The top of one letter to the bottom of the other so for this word - Simplicity - the measurement is the top of the S to the bottom of the Y. One would think, for example a 24" sign would be the largest letter (the S) and not say 15" for the S and then the remainder of the measurement from the top of the Y down. I had accepted this measurement upon order - but explaining this to others - you are not going to get a huge sign. What was extremely unacceptable and, I'll say it, dishonest, was after the item was removed from the backing you could see that it was cracked clear through and that the "blob" I had noticed in the front and thought was shoddy workmanship was actually a repair. One would only notice this AFTER removing the item from the cardboard (which they tell you to inspect BEFORE removing - which is impossible to inspect the back as it is glued to the board with some sort of sticky residue.) So after some glue, some duct tape and some paint touch up I was able to hang this up. I would NEVER pay almost $200 for this and would certainly not recommend it to anyone. I contacted the seller to explain my dissatisfaction and was asked to provide pictures of the shipping box - which I did - and the response was to insinuate blame on transport (this did not damage in transport), that she would touch base with "Travis" regarding the paint, and asked what I thought would be an "ideal resolution." It is not my responsibility as a consumer to provide the seller with customer service resolution and guidelines. After almost two weeks there has been no contact. In a nutshell, obviously these people needed my money more than I do but they don't need yours so be forewarned.
