★☆☆☆☆
Very gory, lots of sex and profanity, bad Rambo action
This was not my cup of tea, and I didn’t finish it. The book has an interesting premise, and starts well, but the focus of the MC on sex is overdone, all the action scenes are rediculous, he learns how to use a sword in an hour, and proceeds to kill a gang with bow and arrows, guns, knifes, and other weapons no problem, then he gets a gun and proceeds to kill another gang of more than 50 armed and armored thugs, all with guns, nonissue, even though he doesn’t really know how to use a gun and has no training. He kills a bunch of them, they catch him, taunt him, he escapes and kills a bunch of them, and they catch him AGAIN, and taunt him, until he escapes and kills a bunch of them, until he is caught a THIRD time, taunted, until he escapes again and kills them all. It a very poor version of Rambo. The descriptions are very gory, and overdone. the character development is pathetic, he changes randomly from good guy, to violent killer, to remorseful, to cold hearted, all with no real reason, all on the space of a couple days. The other characters are barely there, and are mostly props for the MC to use to give him a reason to leave his hole. The magic system/stat system has nothing behind it. There is no explanation behind how it works, why it works, he just gets superpowers that buff him when he kills people. It’s not even tied to his dungeon, just to him.
