I bought what I thought was a brush but it is more like a wide, metal comb with very narrow slits. I have coarse hair with some natural curl. I brushed my hair thoroughly prior to using this. I put heat shield on my hair too. I kept trying and trying and could only put a tiny section of hair in it and it kept pulling it out! I am a middle aged woman with thinning hair and that is the last thing I wanted. I did return it. I had hoped so bad that it would work. It looked nice and felt like it was great quality.
