As a reader I often like to immerse myself in what I am reading. My problem is that I am not homosexual so I don't like putting myself into the perspective of someone who is. Just like how I usually read male protagonists due to the fact that I am male and it is easier to immerse myself in it. I go through reading a book that I believe may have potential in the next novel when out of the blue the main character kisses another guy with no real foreshadowing. This was not expected at all and was actually misleading based on earlier actions by the main character. There was no way anyone would have known that these two characters had this preference before that moment. Not even themselves. So the author just threw that part of the plot in.
