Leaky Lid :(
I really like Tervis, and for the most part, I like this water bottle. It's a good size, and of course has that nice Tervis insulation that's good for hot and cold (although this will be used for cold beverages). I'm not in love with the lid, though. It's a bit hard to open and close, and the hole in the lid for drinking is just a bit too small. I wouldn't NOT buy it because of the lid, because I generally am impressed with Tervis products. But, just be warned that it's not as intuitive as one might want in a water bottle lid. Maybe I'm just old fashioned--my good 'ol Nalgene's screw-top lid works fine after eight years, but I don't know if I'll still have this eight years down the line. Other than that--it's a solidly made product. *** 6 months later... I would not recommend this product anymore. It is super-leaky. This didn't happen at the beginning, Unless the little rubber seal-thingy (sorry for my non-technical language) is set in the top of the lid just so, it leaks when tipped up to drink. A leaky water bottle is okay for when you are doing sports and are already sweaty--but if you're just sitting on your couch watching TV or reading a book, a leaky water bottle (that you paid $20 bucks for--come on!) is highly impractical. And stupid.
