Sadly the new formula contains synthetic vitamin K,menadione sodium bisulfite complex, and one of my cats had an allergic reaction to it. So we’ve feed the old formula for years without this controversial ingredient in it. It’s always agreed with my Siamese. Then Instinct came out with the new formula. We hate the new bag design by the way but what the heck it’s their favorite dry so we bought several large bags. The new formula caused one of our cats to stop eating all his soft foods and he became crazed over the stuff. In fact he began gobbling it down and scratching which was weird and then after a few weeks he started pulling all his fur out. I wrote Instinct to find out what the differences are and then looked it up on multiple websites. I had no idea synthetic K was so bad for cats and dogs. Besides that this is suppose to be a limited ingredient food for pets that are prone to allergies or sensitivities to food so why is this added into it? Horrible and very upsetting. I have stopped feeding it and found an alternative that has luckily begun to set things back in order. Do your own research and see for yourself. This is an unnecessary ingredient that most likely was added to extend shelf life but more importantly the food is now misrepresented and no longer the same quality. Very unfortunate. Sorry for the poor photo but you can see the fur is growing back. He was bald on his back and it was so distressing to watch. Thank goodness he stopped and we caught it before it became a habit that couldn’t be broken.
