The robot works some of the time, until it doesn't
I've used this robot for about 6 weeks, which is just outside of the return window. The vacuum itself sucks well, but every other feature is flawed, buggy, and unreliable. Neato support is poor overall. They have manpower, which is good, so your incidents are responded to, but nothing is ever fixed. My robot has now gone from bad to not working at all. My repair request is currently being "reviewed for approval" since Neato will not send you a replacement for a brand new, very expensive robot that doesn't work. Hopefully I get approved and I can then go buy a box to ship this back to them, at which point they will try and repair it. No timeline on how long it will be gone or if I'll ever get it back. Complete waste of money and I hope to never do business with them again. 5/23/18 Update: Got a replacement robot today and attempted to create the floor plan. This vacuum can't even get to 50% of a floor plan before it loses its mind. See attached photo and video of two separate occasions where it got stuck. It doesn't even try to reverse or get free, it just runs into things and spins its wheels. Either my second unit is DOA or the product is still immature and suffering from lack of quality control. Or both. 9/18 Update: Had to send in my latest unit for repairs again. I was expecting another new unit as I've received in the past, so I could once more roll the dice on maybe getting a reliable vacuum. Opened the return package today and it is my same robot, supposedly repaired. I charged up the battery and let it loose. Two minutes in it shows the same behavior that caused the return in the first place. Not only did they just ship back my unusable robot but didn't even bother to do anything to it. The innards are dusty, just like they were when I sent it off, so clearly nothing has been done. I am still flabbergasted at this experience and yet after spending so much money I have no recourse. All they would have to do is turn on the vacuum and let it run for a few minutes to see that it is defective. Instead they have now wasted more of my time and effort as I continually struggle to get at least some value from this underachiever. 1/2019 Update: My third full replacement has now failed. In 9 months I've had 3 new units, plus a "repaired" unit and they have all failed. They will work for a few weeks and then trouble starts and progresses until the unit just loses its mind. What a complete waste of time, money, and effort this has been. Such a miserable hunk of junk and just a miserable company to work with. I'll probably try and get this one replaced again as this will be my last chance before the warranty expires. I should have done a better job of researching product quality and not just feature set. A cool feature is worthless when the vacuum can't vacuum.
