The disposal arrived in good time and was relatively simple to install and after turning on the tap to allow water through the device, plugged it in and turned it on. Unfortunately, there was a pungent smell of electrical burning and a hum signifying the disposal was not working. I used the supplied Allen key to turn the spinner and found it turned freely. There was nothing jamming the spinner. I called Insinkerator and they quickly proposed to send me another machine for me to install or return the faulty unit for repair. The replacement is supposed to arrive within 10 days. We'll see. Disappointing so far. Update Replacement arrived in the time specified and installed without a problem. Working well so far and good follow-up from the company, which is reassuring. I would recommend this company as one which stands behind their products.
