Seat support rollers leaving a rough residue on the main steel roller rail
I bought this rowing machine last December (had it for about 4 months now), and I am experiences roller wheel deterioration already. The left roller wheels under the seat are leaving a residue on the main steel roller rail making the ride very rough. I have cleaned the black residue off the roller rail and cleaned the rollers on the side that has the problem. I even used wet sandpaper to make the rollers were smooth again. Despite this work, the rollers started to create a problem in about 1,000 additional strokes. When I called the company for a resolution, I was told the unit is out of warranty already (90 day warranty) and I will have to pay for a new seat support. The lady who answered the phone thought it was funny that my unit has started to fail just after the warranty ran out. I do not share in that humor. Update 4/1/2018: The vendor has agreed to send me a new seat support set of rollers to replace the ones that are failing at no charge. However, I did some more research on the failing issue, and I believe the failure is due to rollers that cannot support the weight advertised with this rower. The advertised weight is 350 lbs; I weigh about 240 lbs. The rubber rollers are spalling on the surface at a rapid rate. That usually means there is too much weight on them. Thus, the rower should be rated for a user weight lower than my weight. (See photo of the spalling residue on the rower rail.)
