Don't waste your time and money
I think the concept is great but it needs more QA!! We saw a demo at the NY big toy store. The lady doing the demo definitely made it like magic. Once your hand place under it's feet it will fly a bit higher and it was like she had total control of it. But we saw the fairy fell on the floor a couple times we didn't pay attention because it was just so magical. Both adults and kids were in awe. Then we saw it at Target at home so we bought it for my 6 years old's birthday. However, it's a big disappointment and I'm glad I tested it before letting my 6 years old play it. We read the instruction carefully, let it charge for 30 minutes until the red light stays on. Once it's fully charged, it shot up to the ceiling and stays there. Tried it at the high ceiling and you won't be able to get it back. So I looked into the attached Troubleshooting sheet(apparently it has lots of trouble/complaint regarding those top 4 issues). Read some reviews online and saw the Spin Master customer care's response. Tried to reset, and try to press the launch button so it will stop and try to "train" it to hover to a certain height. None work. It NEVER fly like the advertisement nor like the lady that demo it that it hovers above few inches of your hand. Once your hand goes near it's feet, it will shoot up and never let you "guide" it. Multiple fall and practice and ceiling hitting with pressing the launch button to stop. Once the rotor hit my finger when trying to prevent it from hitting the wall, and it's quite painful. After second charge, still doing the same thing while there was only 1 time success that it fly around 2 feet height. When tried to guide it (like the advertisement) with my hand, it hit a wall and does not hover on my hand. Then it makes some weird sound after a fall, and it stop turning. So i thought it needs charging again. Waited for another 30 minutes until the light stop blinking. It just can never turn nor fly again. So my total play/test time was less then 15 minutes. I can't imagine how a 5-6 years old can manage or control it if not letting the rotor hitting the fingers, tangling the hair, or damaging household items. I think I shall give it one more chance if it's a defect. Will exchange for another one tomorrow but reading all the low ratings all over amazon, Target, Walmart and Toy R us, I really don't have much hope. I'm just mostly hoping to "Demo" it for my girl to let her know this is not a good design toy and maybe she should get another toy for her birthday!!!
